Christian Danielewitz
, a Danish visual artist, researcher, and writer, and Bianca Hisse, a Brazilian visual artist and choreographer, come together as a collaborative duo whose work spans across multiple disciplines. Their practices focus on geopolitical issues, the extraction of raw materials, digital materialities, and how spaces are choreographed by economic and social forces. Their collective approach combines visual art, research, and performance to critically engage with urgent global and environmental concerns.

During their residency at Artica Svalbard, Christian and Bianca will explore Svalbard as an increasingly contested territory for grey-zone operations. These "grey-zones" refer to hostile activities that occur between the boundaries of war and peace, including the sabotage of critical infrastructure and cyber-attacks. The duo aims to uncover and make visible the invisible battlefields of these operations, researching how geopolitical tensions and environmental vulnerability intersect in Svalbard’s technologically wired landscape. Through their work, they seek to engage with the local context and open up new ways of thinking about these hidden power dynamics.
